The last two weeks of pregnancy were such a blur to me! The majority of it was spent nesting like a mad woman, working my last few shifts, and trying to sneak in a few moments for myself.

I felt pretty overwhelmed, like every spare minute I had was spent preparing for the little man. There were boxes all over the house, gifts scattered in every room (which we were SO grateful for), baby stuff we didn’t have set up yet or even know what to do with, and the house was a mess! I am a self-proclaimed neat freak and I felt like I had to have everything perfect before he was born.

We had the house professionally cleaned, the dogs got baths, we finished up his nursery and the car seat was in the car. I knew our world was about to get rocked, so it felt good to at least start with a clean slate! I know I was probably a little overzealous. My ‘go bag’ didn’t get packed until the night before, but I am ALWAYS a procrastinator when it comes to packing!

I promise I did have a little fun! My co-workers threw me the most beautiful baby shower (#3!) and it was so nice to relax and just have some girl talk outside of work for a few hours. I wish we did this more often because these chicas are absolutely amazing! I am so blessed to have such strong, funny, and talented women in my life. Love you girls!

Right before delivery, I tried to do a few things for myself and I absolutely recommend this to any pregnant mamas! Number one on my list was getting a mani/pedi and getting my hair blown out. When I was in the hospital I knew this would make me feel like some semblance of a human even with no sleep and while trying to figure out this thing called motherhood. I also got a pregnancy massage and OH EM GEE it felt incredible to spend one solid hour not focused on my to-do list and getting pampered! I could have laid there forever!

I kept up my workouts and tried to stay as active as felt comfortable. These workouts were modified a bunch but I tried to keep on moving. Just being at the gym, getting my blood flowing, and seeing the other preggo mamas, my friends, and my coaches reassured me that I could get through these final weeks. I definitely credit my CrossFit community and staying active for keeping me healthy throughout pregnancy as well as helping with my delivery and recovery (I’ll post about this next!)

The day before delivery!

At this point nothing really fit my preggo body except some dresses (like this gorgeous one from PinkBlush – click on the photo above for details!) and a pair of raggedy old sweatpants and Tyler’s t-shirts so that’s basically what I lived in!

Each day and each doctor’s appointment brought me closer to bringing this little man into the world and I was so excited and so nervous all at once. What was life going to be like afterwards? Was my relationship with Ty going to be the same? Would I ever have a full nights sleep again? How delicious would that first glass of wine be? How darn cute would our little human be? Would my heart explode with love? I was about to find out!

How did you all feel during the final weeks of pregnancy?? Isn’t it so bittersweet?
